Our Lake and Beach Committee members work hard to locate and identify crappie beds throughout the lake. They have established a map and can be accessed here.

Goose Creek Lake & Pond Dredging

The Board of Trustees approved a dredging fee in 2017 of $25.00 per property owner starting with the 2018 billing and will continue each year until otherwise released. Dredging will begin as soon as there are enough funds in reserves to start the process. We estimate it will take approximately 5 years to build up the account to where the process can be started. There are plans to have several areas of the lake dredged when funds become available. This is a very costly project and will be in excess of $500,000. We would like to perform hydro-dredging instead of mechanical. Mechanical dredging requires heavy dump trucks which can destroy the roads. The advantage of hydro-dredging is that the material is moved through a pipeline to the discharge location. The biggest concern is where to store the removed silt. The site has to be approved through DNR and be accessible. There are plans to build a settlement pond on some feeder creeks for the main lake to help prevent future silt from entering the lake. This will help eliminate the need for additional dredging in the future.

Missouri Department of Conservation periodically surveys our lake and forwards a report to us. That report can be viewed here.

Dredging will start February 2023 (weather permitting)
