Permits

I'm wanting to have a shed delivered, do I need a permit?

Yes, any permanent structure that will remain on your property for more than 2 weeks, will need a permit. You can apply for a permit by coming into the Goose Creek Office and requesting a building permit packet. We recommend a Survey of your property prior to applying for a permit be done. We require you to mark your property with stakes and/or flags indicating where the building will be located (flags are available in the office at no charge). When turning in your plans, there are a few things that are required to be included on your drawing such as:

1. The distance from each property line your structure will be located. The required distances are: 25’ from the front of your property line (this is not the road). If you have lake front property, the front of your property is considered the water. The 25’ distance would then be from the water. The distance from the other three property lines are 10 feet.

2. Draw the structure on the plans with the size to be included on the drawing. If there are any existing structures, please indicate those also and whether or not the structure is to remain or be removed. If you have further questions, please contact our permits department.
