Permits & Land Acquisition
Per the Goose Creek Covenants and Restrictions, permits are required for various types of improvements to property. Information on building permits is contained within the covenants for Goose Creek. A Building Permit Packet can be obtained by coming into the Goose Creek Office. We have packets outside office doors also. You may pick one up and by clicking below and you may print a packet fill out and mail to office with payment. Just a reminder that Goose Creek permits are only good for 6 months, then they will need to be renewed. Once the permit is submitted to the office no changes are allowed. You will need another permit for any work you did not include in the first permit. If you have any contractors doing your work, you must get them a workers pass from the office to enter Goose Creek. They will need to show proof on insurance along with the property owner’s name. These passes will be kept in the guard shack.

RV Campers (If it will be on your property for more than 2 weeks at a time.)
Concrete, Retaining walls
Septic Systems / Holding Tanks require a County permit first and then a GCL permit.

Boat Docks
All plans for building new boat docks must be submitted to the Trustees for approval. Trustees will review at the upcoming Trustee Meeting. Boat docks may use plastic, or any other types of non-corrosive drums which have been triple-washed and cleaned of all foreign substances and chemicals. No steel barrels or metal drums shall be used. All lake-front properties with electrical service at or near the water's edge, including boat docks, either floating or stationary, are required to have an electrical safety inspection performed by a qualified individual, by May 1, 2016, or whenever the lake-front property changes ownership.
a. All wiring methods and conductors shall be suitable for wet locations;
b. All wiring shall meet National Electrical Code Article 553 (Floating Buildings);
c. Disconnect at shore shall be 42” above finish grade and accessible at all times for emergency personnel;
d. All breakers feeding dock must be GFCI.
e. A Dock Wiring Inspection Sheet (available at the Office) must be completed and returned to the office. Results of the inspections must be submitted to the Office for review. Any failed inspections must either be corrected within 90 days of the inspection or electrical service must be removed from the affected area. This change is effective October 3, 2015, and applies to all lake-front properties, regardless of when electrical service was added.
Boat docks must be 10' foot from the property line and no more than ( 40' ) out depending on which part of the lake or cove your in. For more information please call the Office at: (573)358-3133

A permit application may be printed on-line, email, or regular mail payment can be made by phone, mail a check, the drop box in front of office or pay in person.
Additional Permit Information - If a permit is required and work is done without an approved permit a "Stop Work Order" will be issued and a fine may be assessed to the property owner.

There is no delivery fee for Rock, Gravel, Concrete, Lumber, or equipment delivery
*Septic Tanks or Systems will require an inspection by a certified State Inspector at the time of transfer.
